Can I walk the grounds if I'm not attending a program?
Unfortunately, no. Bucktoe Creek Preserve is private property, and is only open through one of our guided educational programs. If you'd like to learn more about the programs that are offered here, please check out our 'Activities & Programs' page by clicking here.
Are dogs allowed at the preserve?
No, dogs are not allowed on the grounds at Bucktoe Creek Preserve. Part of our mission is to provide a refuge for threatened wildlife and flora; dogs, while great pets, are predators in the food chain, and can cause unwanted stress. Both The Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County and the Delaware Nature Society, however, have expansive preserves, some of which are dog-friendly. You can visit DNS' Ashland Nature Center with your dog at the following address: 3511 Barley Mill Rd, Hockessin, DE 19707. Can we camp here?
Yes. There are regular camping programs held throughout the year by Delaware Nature Society and The Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County. If you are interested in scheduling a private camping group, please send us a message through our Contact Page, found here.
